Map the working day
Collect daily distance, longest routes, depot dwell, payload and seasonal operating patterns. Average mileage alone hides the demanding days that determine whether an electric vehicle can complete its work.
Identify charging opportunities
Separate dependable depot dwell from uncertain public charging. Assess how many vehicles return at the same time and who owns charging operations. Ask your infrastructure specialist to evaluate power availability and installation requirements.
Test a representative pilot
Choose routes that cover normal and difficult conditions. Measure energy used, time connected, charging failures and service completion. Retain a recovery plan for unexpected route changes.
Use the right data
State of charge and charging status depend on the vehicle and integration. Do not assume that a stationary vehicle is charging. Document unavailable signals and verify any derived estimates against vehicle evidence.
Your action checklist
- Profile peak-day demand
- Validate vehicle data availability
- Include infrastructure and downtime costs
Product availability depends on your devices, integrations, permissions and enabled modules. Confirm your organisation’s configuration before implementation.
